Lion’s Oval Public School is a new two storey, 4,710m2, twenty one classroom elementary school in Orillia. The school will be home to 420 students from three amalgamating schools.
The school building was designed in the spirit of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) with respect to energy conservation and efficiency, as well as with an appreciation of the surrounding neighbourhood. As part of the commitment to honour the history of each of the closing schools, Lions Oval Public School will incorporate aspects of each school in the new building.

The 350,000 sq foot expansion of the Royal Victoria Hospital includes the Simcoe-Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre. This addition will allow patients to receive comprehensive cancer treatment closer to home. The building will include three radiation treatment suites, two large outpatient clinic areas, a supportive care area, a large chemotherapy suite, and a clinical trial area. The building will be three stories high, and attached to the existing hospital.
Sarjeants will be pouring not only a variety of concrete mixes, but specialty mixes as well. For the radiation treatment rooms a high density concrete mix will be used for the walls and ceilings. For the interior and exterior of the structure a special architectural mix will be used for the exposed view of floors, walls, columns & ceilings.
Vanbots is one of Canada’s largest contracting companies. In late 2008, the company joined Carillion Canada as the industrial, commercial and institutional construction arm in Canada.

The marine railway at Big Chute near Georgian Bay, is where the Severn River drops 60 feet over a rugged, sloping rock channel.
The Big Chute hydro electric generating station, originally owned by the Simcoe Light and Power Company, was placed in commercial service to provide power to the counties of Simcoe and Muskoka and many nearby towns. Between 1991 and 1993 a major overhaul of the facility was undertaken wherein all four generators were removed and replaced by one larger 10 mega watt unit.When the plant was completed 4100 hp was being developed and commercially available in Midland.

Barrie’s WPCC is located near the southwestern shore of Kempenfelt Bay on Lake Simcoe. Due to the projected population growth of Barrie, the existing capacity of the water treatment plant needed to be increased. Work was carried out in three different areas of the plant: Sludge Processing, Secondary Treatment, and Tertiary Treatment. A total of 16 process units were added. The work also included the replacement and addition of mechanical and electrical processes within the plant, as well as extensive dewatering, excavation and piling works.
The expansion included concrete for tank walls, tank bases, close to 2000 piles driven into the ground and a huge underground tunnel that was over eighteen feet wide and twelve feet high.
Sarjeants provided experienced Quality Control Technicians on site for all major pours.

The Bradford WPCP is located in the Town of Bradford, north of Toronto. The WPCP expansion project included the addition of 4 new aeration tanks, 4 clarifiers, 2 biosolids storage tanks, a new digester, and a glass lined biosolids storage tank. Additional structures include administration, headworks, RAW sewage, filter, blower and digester control buildings.
This project included numerous individual pours exceeding 800m3 of concrete each. These pours required a continuous supply of concrete to meet the project requirements.

Blue Diamond Pools required 50 m3 of ready-mix for an in ground Shotcrete pool. The Shotcrete mix delivered had to be at a 75mm slump, so it could be pumped through a line pump. Furthermore the consistent slump that was delivered ensured the contractor the workability they needed to mould benches and a winding staircase.
