TerraCair® Ultra-Pure Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
Sarjeants is proud to be carrying Terra Environmental Technologies' high quality TerraCair® Ultra-Pure Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).
DEF is a nitrogen-based solution of urea and primarily water that reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from the exhaust stream of diesel engines to near zero. Urea, a naturally occuring organic compound not controlled under WHMIS, is a feedstock for TerraCair® Ultra-Pure DEF. Click here for MSDS.
TerraCair® Ultra-Pure DEF is certified by the American Petroleum Institute which certifies the quality of DEF to international performance standards. This certification recognises that TerraCair® Ultra-Pure DEF meets the stringent quality standards that diesel engine manufacturer service warranties require.
TerraCair® Ultra-Pure DEF is the preferred Diesel Exhaust Fluid of several leading orginal truck producers (OEMs) such as Ford, Daimler, Hino, Volvo and Mack Trucks North America. Several Travel Centres also endorse TerraCair® Ultra-Pure DEF.

What is SCR?
SCR, or Selective Catalytic Reduction, is a well-established and safe technology that is already used in the denoxing (reducing nitrogen oxides) of power plants burning fossil fuels. SCR uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), a solution of urea and primarily water, to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) levels to almost zero. The urea reacts with the nitrous oxides in the vehicles exhaust stream to reduce it to elemental nitrogen and H20 particulates.
