Mild-mannered Midland area sales rep Wayne Simkin doesn’t like to boast… so we’d like to do it for him! In late April 2013 Wayne became a repeat World Champion wildfowl carver. Wayne took top spot in the “Decorative Life-size Floating Pairs” category at the 43rd Annual Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Art Festival in Ocean City, MD.

For the 3rd straight year, the Sarjeant Company (in association with MacLarenART and the art department of Simcoe/Muskoka High Schools) had student designed artwork put on the drums of our Readymix trucks.

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal has been used as a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to the country. At the same time, this commemorative medal served to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. Monday evening Scott was presented with the award by Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman.

A jury of 4 representatives of the Sarjeant Company chose 4 winning designs, one from each of the following schools:
Nantyr Shores Secondary School
Barrie Central Collegiate
Bear Creek Secondary School
St. Joan of Arc High School
These designs will be digitally scanned, printed on large format vinyl, and soon will be wrapped around the drums of four of our concrete mixer trucks. Winning selections are top secret and will be on display at the MacLaren Gallery Thursday, May 2, 7:00 to 9:00 pm.…

For the annual Sarjeant Christmas Party a small group of staff put together a funny music video doing a Sarjeant style take on the popular song “I’ve Been Everywhere”. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of The Sarjeant Company Chairman, John O. Elliott, who died peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, June 19th.
Friends may visit at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012. A private family service will be held at Midhurst Union Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.steckleygooderham.com.

The Sarjeant Design Project 2012, in conjunction with the McLaren Art Centre, saw 126 students from Eastview, St Thersa’s, Twin Lakes and Huntsville schools participating in workshops led by regional artist Lois Green to create unique wraps for our concrete mixer drums.
Sarjeants is in the process of visiting the schools so the kids can admire their work, with Huntsville High School and Twin Lakes Secondary School the first to get a visits.
