Wayne Simkin – Repeat World Champion Carver
Mild-mannered Midland area sales rep Wayne Simkin doesn’t like to boast… so we’d like to do it for him! In late April 2013 Wayne became a repeat World Champion wildfowl carver. Wayne took top spot in the “Decorative Life-size Floating Pairs” category at the 43rd Annual Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition and Art Festival in Ocean City, MD.

2013 MacLaren Art – Sarjeant Design Winners Chosen
A jury of 4 representatives of the Sarjeant Company chose 4 winning designs, one from each of the following schools:
Nantyr Shores Secondary School
Barrie Central Collegiate
Bear Creek Secondary School
St. Joan of Arc High School
These designs will be digitally scanned, printed on large format vinyl, and soon will be wrapped around the drums of four of our concrete mixer trucks. Winning selections are top secret and will be on display at the MacLaren Gallery Thursday, May 2, 7:00 to 9:00 pm.…

I’ve Been Everywhere (Sarjeant Version)
For the annual Sarjeant Christmas Party a small group of staff put together a funny music video doing a Sarjeant style take on the popular song “I’ve Been Everywhere”. It stars Bubba as “Bubba” with special guest June; music and lyrics by Mike MacMillan, photography and special effects by Dave Brown; and Kim Dickson as executive producer. John O. Elliott, 1931-2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of The Sarjeant Company Chairman, John O. Elliott, who died peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, June 19th.
Friends may visit at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012. A private family service will be held at Midhurst Union Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.steckleygooderham.com.

Sarjeant Design Project 2012 School Visits
The Sarjeant Design Project 2012, in conjunction with the McLaren Art Centre, saw 126 students from Eastview, St Thersa’s, Twin Lakes and Huntsville schools participating in workshops led by regional artist Lois Green to create unique wraps for our concrete mixer drums.
Sarjeants is in the process of visiting the schools so the kids can admire their work, with Huntsville High School and Twin Lakes Secondary School the first to get a visits. Sarjeants at the 25th Annual Rotary Fun Run!
On May 30th the 25th Annual Rotary Fun Run was held on Barrie’s waterfront. Sarjeants entered a team of 50 with some running the 5km and others walking, while Scott Elliott worked the microphone to encourage everyone across the finish line. It was another fun year! Sarjeant’s The Good Shepherd Catholic School Visit
Sarjeants was invited to a Grade 1 class at The Good Shepherd School in Barrie today. Sarjeant’s GM, Pat Robbenhaar, spoke to the students about all the different work we do and Operations Manager, Doug Kelly, drove a ready mix concrete truck over so the students could sit in it and honk the horn. The kids were thrilled!…
