Detour Gold Lake Mine

Custom Concrete (Northern) Ready Mix Concrete Division provided approximately 120,000 m3 (160,000 yd3 ) of concrete for the construction of the new processing plant, housing and various other buildings on site. The operation utilized 2 concrete plants and 18 trucks producing up to 8,000 m3 (10,400 yd3) over a 72 hour period, for an average of 111m3/hr (144 yd3/hr).
Detour Lake Gold Corporation’s Detour Lake Mine, located about 180 kilometres (110 miles) northeast of Cochrane, has a historically produced of 1.8 million ounces of gold. Construction of the site started in 2011. Gold production began in 2013, targeting an average annual production of 650,000 ounces with an estimated mine life of 16 years.
