The Ontario portion of the Timiskaming Dam Complex, located 65 kilometres northeast of North Bay, Ontario, was more than a 100 old and needed to be replaced.
We are contracted by Goldcorp in Northern Ontario to crush materials for a tailings dam. This includes various road material, 1 1/2 clear stone, A gravel, 8˝ minus, 6˝ minus, stemming material, and crush gold orr for the mill (6˝ minus down to 3/8˝).
The Sarjeant Company was contracted by Brion Energy to provision and operate a ready mix plant to produce concrete for the construction of a SAGD (Steam-assisted gravity drainage) plant for oil and gas extraction from the oil sands near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Custom Concrete (Northern) Ready Mix Concrete Division provided approximately 120,000 m3 (160,000 yd3 ) of concrete for the construction of the new processing plant, housing and various other buildings on site. The operation utilized 2 concrete plants and 18 trucks producing up to 8,000 m3 (10,400 yd3) over a 72 hour period, for an average of 111m3/hr (144 yd3/hr).
Custom Concrete Northern was contracted by New Gold Inc. to supply and commission a concrete batch plant along with cement and admixtures for the production of CIPC used for the construction of the gold mine crushers and mill. This project was done as a Joint Venture with the Onikaajigan Construction LP, a subsidiary of the Rainy River First Nation, Naicatchewenin First Nation and Saulteaux Consulting and Engineering.
Custom Concrete Northern was contracted by TransEd, a civil joint venture of Ellis Don, Bantrel and Bechtel to supply, commission and operate a central mixing concrete batch plant for the production of shotcrete. The project is a large Light Rail Transit expansion called the Valley Line LRT that included two 400m long tunnels for southbound and northbound travelling trains.
