Aggregate Pit Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of all aggregate operations to ensure profitability, safety, quality, standards and schedule commitments are met
  • Assist in the management of the personnel including dispatchers, equipment operators, labourers, maintenance and quality control.
  • Assist in the allocation of the appropriate equipment and staffing resources to each location based on product demands.s
  • Work closely with the Operations and Sales departments in addressing customer service requirements to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Assist with the purchasing, maintenance and repairs to company equipment as needed.span>
  • Assist in investigating employee concerns and complaints, safety issues and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Post-Secondary education in Business or related field, or an acceptable combination of education and work experience.
  • Previous experience in a management/supervisory role.
  • Surface Minor Common Core Training would be an asset.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the aggregate industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, able to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain composure in dealing with difficult situations.
  • Ability to foster and grow a strong safety culture.
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving skills; a self-starter.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be well organized, be able to multitask, and work well under pressure.

Long hours may be required during the busy season; which may include weekends or holidays.
