Licenced Truck Mechanic – Day Shift The Sarjeant Company Ltd.

The Position:
We have an immediate opening for a licensed mechanic in our Barrie location to work Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are looking for an energetic self-starter who enjoys a team environment. Our mechanics are responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, major and minor repairs, modifications and overhauls on company vehicles.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, test, adjust, and repair systems of heavy-duty vehicles.
- Examine, test drives and troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment.
- Perform repairs and replace defective parts.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Maintain inventory and restocks parts.
- Perform emergency road repairs as required.
- Submit records of repairs and preventative maintenance to Fleet Administrator.
- May perform other general garage duties as needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be a 310T licensed truck and coach technician.
- Valid G driver’s license is required. AZ or DZ is considered an asset.
- Minimum two years related experience.
- Experience with Ready-Mix trucks are considered to be an asset.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair problems of general and advanced nature.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance.
- Ability to work in safe and efficient manner.
