Our Apprentice will report to Shop Foreman and be responsible for performing the following work on all company equipment and highway vehicles:

• Diagnose, test, adjust, and repair, systems of heavy-duty vehicles
• Scheduled Daily Inspections on Production Equipment (Crushers/Screeners/Loaders)
• Examines, tests, and troubleshoots, electrical and mechanical problems using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment
• Performs routine and scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Maintain inventory and ensure parts are stocked to standard
• Perform emergency road repairs as required
• Submit records of repairs and preventative maintenance to Fleet Administrators
• Complete reports to record problems and daily workload (laptop provided)
• Tracking hours and service intervals on all equipment
• Troubleshoot, service and repair, defects on sites
• Perform maintenance as per assigned work orders
• Welding/torching and cutting are required
• Maintain a safe and orderly working environment
• Completing major and minor repairs
• Other duties as assigned

• Minimum 1 years’ experience is required
• Must be registered as an apprentice (preferably in your second or third year)
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Must be able to handle the physical demands of a job that’s in a high-risk environment
• Must be able to work outside and in all weather conditions
• Must be able to possibly work long hours as required (including weekends or holidays)
• Must be able to fulfill our schedule needs as listed
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair problems of general and advanced nature
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of engine repair, mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance is required
• Ability to work in safe and efficient manner

Experienced and licensed professional

Working conditions are conducive with a typical Garage environment; must be comfortable with extensive physical labour demands and working with high-risk materials/products. Occasional overtime maybe required to complete various tasks or special projects, which is compensated.
