Run by the Essa Economic Development Committee, the Essa Riverbank Salmon Derby was started in 2003

with the proceeds raised from it put towards riverbank restoration and improvements in the four Essa fishing parks. Recognizing the importance of preserving the environment in our community, Sarjeants has been a platinum sponsor of the event.

The Derby takes place along the banks of the Nottawasaga River just outside of Angus, ON, with the current record for the longest salmon caught being 90.5cm.
