Project Description

Custom Concrete (Northern) installed a new paste plant at the Goldcorp Inc. mine in 2009. This particular plant has a 2.25 cubic meter twin shaft mixer. At this particular installation we are using 100% tailings. The cement content varies from 3% to 12% depending on the mine requirements. The tailings are screened to produce a 1 inch minus product. Depending on mining requirements this operation has the ability to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Initially, Custom Concrete produced paste fill from the tailings directly from the Kinross (now known as Goldcorp Inc) mill. This later transitioned into a dry batch plant with a ready-mix concrete operation.
